Anning discovered the bones of an ichthyosaur as a child and that incident ignited her passion to become a scientist and study fossils for the rest of her life.

Rousseau, a self-taught artist, began painting at forty years of age. The critics were brutal. But he painted on and on and on. When he was sixty-one years old, his talent was recognized. Now, we all marvel at the jungles and animals and distant worlds he painted.
